Tim Hagan was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, in a hard-working family; his father drove a tree-trimming truck for Kansas City Power & Light and his mother a school librarian. He was active in Boy Scounts and became an Eagle Scout. He has lived in Nevada and District 5 for the past twenty-six years.
Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Magna Cum Laude, from the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Management of Technology Certificate at Georgia Tech.
Tim is a member of the Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Missouri University of Science & Technology, and the university's Order of the Golden Shillelagh.
Tim's first job out of college was in the design of radar systems at General Dynamics. Then he moved to Northrop, where he worked on the design and integration of an electronic warfare receiver. After working on the integration and testing of a communications satellite for INTELSAT, he went to graduate school at Georgia Tech where he earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Management of Technology Certificate. After graduating in 1993, Tim choose to move to Nevada and accepted a position as an Engineer with EG&G Technical Services. Before retiring, he was an Electrical Engineer with JT4 in the testing and measurements of radar systems.
Tim has had several positions of responsibility with the Libertarian Party since joining the College Libertarians at Georgia Tech. He has been the Treasurer of the Libertarian National Committee since 2012, and serves as the Treasurer of the Libertarian Party of Nevada. He has also served as the Southwest Regional Alternate to the Libertarian National Committee.
Tim enjoys getting together with friends to catch baseball games and to watch the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football games. He has seen regular-season major league baseball games in dozens of stadiums across the country. Tim has gotten into genealogy, and traced his family to Richard Warren, who was a Pilgrim aboard the Mayflower.
Tim Hagan cares about you. He wants a strong Nevada focused on long-term sustainability and viability. As an engineer, he is experienced with solving difficult problems - he can provide better and cheaper solutions to improve the economy and education.
